Modgraph's USA operation, based in San Diego California, is run by Craig James.
Mr. James is a recognized leader in architecture for scientific software
and has worked as a software engineer and architect in scientific disciplines
for 24 years. His achievements include: Chief architect and designer
for Accelrys' Discovery Studio (TM) system, the foundation of the current
Accelrys Life Sciences product line. Chief architect, designer and programmer
for Daylight's Thor/Merlin chemical information database system, including
the high-performce database servers, as well as the client-side Thor
and Merlin Toolkits. Developed Daylight's Monomer (combichem) Toolkit,
and contributed extensively to all other the Daylight Toolkits. Researcher
at Hewlett Packard Laboratories in software for analytical chemistry.
Developed heuristic solutions for predicting chemical structure from
analytical data. Designed GC/MS (Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer)
hardware and analytical software for Hewlett Packard. Mr. James holds
a patent for high-performance mass spectrometer data acquisition. Mr.
James has an MS in Computer Science from Stanford University (1985),
and a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Davis
(1978).
